The 12 items Uber checks daily
- Headlights (low + high beam)
- Tail lights and brake lights
- Turn signals (front and rear)
- Hazard lights
- Tire tread depth (>2/32")
- Tire pressure — visible under-inflation fails
- Brake response (no pull, no noise)
- Windshield — no cracks in driver line of sight
- Windshield wipers (both blades)
- All mirrors intact and adjustable
- Seat belts front and rear
- No visible body damage that affects passenger door use
What actually triggers an account pause
Uber Montreal does not verify each item — it's a self-attestation. But if a passenger reports damage or a broken light, they cross-check the timestamp of your last inspection. Faking one that a passenger later contradicts is a common cause of deactivation.
The annual SAAQ vérification mécanique is separate and mandatory. Expired sticker = automatic pause until proof of renewal.
How to pass it in 90 seconds
- Walk around the car clockwise: front lights → passenger side → rear lights → driver side
- Kick each tire — under-inflated is obvious by feel
- Sit in, cycle turn signals + hazards from the stalk
- Wipers on for 2 seconds, mirrors adjusted
- Submit
